To provide an opportunity for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities to develop the skills necessary to become participating members of their community through inclusion in university life and, in so doing, to enrich the diversity of the university.
The purpose of SUCCEED is to encourage and develop pathways toward student independence. We achieve these goals through four pillars:
Our values spell AIM, because we believe that all students should aim for their highest capabilities in academics, vocational experiences, and residential/student life. This requires students to take accountability as they establish independence and maturity.
The UMSL Succeed Program received approval from the United States Department of Education as a Comprehensive Transition and Postsecondary Program (CTP). As a CTP program, students who qualify may receive federal financial aid in the form of the Federal Pell Grant, and the Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant. Succeed Students must fill out the FASFA in order to determine eligibility
